The Building Industry Group is hosting its second annual Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt Legislative Review Luncheon on Friday, Apr. 27 at Club Green Meadows. The event will be held upstairs at the club house located at 7703 NE 72nd Ave. in Vancouver. The doors open at 11:30 a.m.

We are hosting this up close and personal forum with our Legislators as a service to our industry members and the Clark County’s business community,” said Liz Pike, Political Affairs Director for Building Industry Association of Clark County. ”We are delighted that several members of Southwest Washington’s Legislative delegation will join our industry leaders at this event.”

Brad Andersen, an attorney with Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt will moderate the forum. Among those scheduled to speak include 17th District Representatives Paul Harris and Tim Probst, 18th District Senator Joe Zarelli, 18th District Representatives Ed Orcutt and Ann Rivers, and 49th District Representatives Sharon Wylie and Jim Moeller.

Legislators to give report card of recent session.

“The building industry is facing an unprecedented assault from both the Washington State Department of Ecology and the Department of Labor and Industries,” said Pike. “Crippling new storm water regulations and ever increasing L&I costs continue to hurt an already struggling sector of Clark County business.

“By continuing dialogue with our elected officials, we help them understand our members’ current challenges with the hope that an exchange of ideas will improve our local economy and put Clark County back to work.”
