Doug Sessions was driving his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on NE 119th when his leg started to bother him. He took his eyes off the road for a split second, and found himself in Curtin Creek, submerged in about three feet of water.
Gordon Anderson had just left church when he saw the upside-down vehicle. Crawling through the broken rear window, Anderson was able to evaluate Session’s condition while bystanders helped secure the teetering truck.
First responders arrived on scene, closing the busy road while they extracted Sessions, who was transported to a local hospital.
Looking at pictures of the accident, Sessions said, “had it rolled a quarter of a turn, I might have been under water and unable to get loose.”
