Between Memorial Day and Labor are the most dangerous days to drive on Clark County Roads. According to Marion Swendsen, Clark County Target Zero Manager for the Clark County Seriff’s Office, ” Traditionally, that is when about a third of all their serious injuries and fatalities occur.”

Between July 1 and July 8, 2012, there were 484 impaired driver arrests, over 8000 speeding infractions and 1303 citations for seat belt and child restraints violations, according to the Washington State Patrol.

For the Forth of July weekend, The Clark County Sheriff’s department and the State Patrol have stepped up their DUI patrols using specially trained Drug Recognition Officers, as we previous reported. (see video)
