Vancouver Community Library permanently closed its 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd. location on June 4. The closure will allow Fort Vancouver Regional Library District staff and professional movers to transfer the collection and staff work stations to the new building at 901 C St.

The library’s new location will open July 17.

The Mill Plain building, which has served as the main library’s home for 48 years, is slated to continue to house the library district’s consolidated operations, book processing, administration and Clark County bookmobile once the library space is vacated.

This winter, a new program called Book Talk – conversations about books and people who love them – will be arriving at COUV.COM. This audio-only program features local authors, writers, librarians, library patrons and community members who love to read.

Behind the scenes we’ve had over a half dozen interviews preparing for our launch, including conversations with authors: Bill Cameron, Ron Gompertz, Carolyn J. Rose, Jessica Page Morrell, Mike Nettleton, Todd C. WilliamsLinda Reinhardt and community members Wilma Doane and Betty Kime.

What are you reading right now? And who would you like to hear interviewed? Leave a comment below or send us an email at booktalk@couv.com.
