Theater Director J. Scott Lapp to bring Footloose to life in Vancouver.

After directing last year’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for Christian Community Theater, J. Scott Lapp is excited to be returning to Vancouver this summer to direct Footloose.

Lapp has been working in the theatre business for over 24 years, performing in over 100 shows in and around his native San Diego County.

In 2000, he toured with Billy Graham’s The Puzzle performing throughout Poland and has been seen in The Crew at Sea World, Paramount’s Great America and King’s Island in Ohio. He is an alumnus of the 2009 Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Lab West, a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers (SDC) and earned a 2011 selection as a SDC Emerging Artist.

Recent J. Scott Lapp projects include working as Assistant Director on the World Premiere Musical, A Room With A View at the Old Globe in San Diego and a workshop of the new musical, Secondhand Lions! He also directed a workshop of a new musical based on Peter Pan that was selected to be part of the ASCAP/Dreamworks Musical Theatre Workshop with Stephen Schwartz. He is a recipient of Noel Craig, Inland Theatre League, Patté, National Youth Theatre, Billy and Director’s Choice awards.

When not directing, Lapp runs a freelance graphic design business specializing in theatrical design and advertising.

Christian Community Theater is seeking cast and crew to be a part of this exciting summer production. Auditions are by appointment Jun. 9-10. Production dates are Aug. 10-19.
