This site is brand new and in the process of being invented. Think of it as a new community bridge under construction. It’s rough. It doesn’t look like a bridge yet. Traffic moves slowly. It doesn’t look pretty. But something new and significant is happening here. You are welcome to watch and participate in the construction and even drive on it as it takes shape and develops into a great community resource.
If we are simply a group of people living in a region who neglect to connect, we are vulnerable to losing our freedoms. We are susceptible to being wounded or hurt. We are fragile and unprotected. But if we connect, establish relationships and form a community, our synergy bestows us with strength to safeguard our freedoms, become invincible, unbeatable, unconquerable, protected. We can prosper and gain health to accomplish what would otherwise be futile.
So Clark County, if we are to become a community, let’s connect. Let’s talk and work together for our common good.
- David Madore
Keep that info flowing, thanks for all you do.
Government has become a multi-headed monster, not the servant of the people. A project like the CRC must not unfairly burden the residents of our community.
Keep up the good work Mr. Madore. Thanks for looking out for the people of Vancouver.
After two years, Leavitt said he is “resigned that tolling is the only practical, acceptable and sustainable means to contribute to our local share.”
He did not explain why he said “no tolls” during his campaign, but then decided to become “resigned”. What is his explanation for misleading the voters? The other explanation is he was ignorant of the complexities, and it was just false bravado? Or did he cleverly phrase his campaign statements by saying things that were really wishful thinking for the community?
I think Leavitt would have been better off to just be honest and admit his pre-election posturing was mostly just that-and admit he was uninformed and irresponsible.

This is a great idea, David. Since The Columbian won’t assume it’s role as watchdog for the average citizen, then the average citizens can get together here and pool our strengths, discuss the real issues, and brainstorm ideas to improve our lives and our community. Hopefully together we can make a difference, and take back our community from the elitists that have hijacked it.
Artimus, didn’t you know that they have their people in place so they don’t have to deal with the public? There are ways around the vote of the public and they think the public is to ignorant to understand what the community needs. There are many agenda pushers and when they don’t get their way they embarass those in power to make them cowtown to what they are doing. More can be stated here but I’m sure y’ll get the drift. Everyone has a voice and the more folks use it, there is the appearance that the Columbian will use their editorial writers to take them out one by one. Just like they did with another website forum. Bullying at it’s finest and then they can’t figure out where the kids got it?
Thank you David for your information and standing up for citizens/taxpayers’ wallets. This trainwreck/’Done Deal’ has an open trottle and there are several bottlenecks in place in Portland that makes the traffic problems. They are put in place for a reason, just like here in Clark County and one doesn’t need an engineering degree to see this. If traffic were to flow freely do you honestly think they would be making money off the taxes on gas?
Just pick those battles carefully!

Wow David, I thought the Columbian was terrible??
Having Lou jump onto John Laird’s column tonite was kind of weird. Maybe John blew a fuse or something.
I hear what you’re saying karma, but I’m not intimidated by The Columbian’s editorial writers. There are just too many simple, factual reasons that The Columbian can’t “get around” that show this bridge project to be a total boondoggle.
Btw karma, go the the upper right corner and click on: “Lars Larson Shreds Leavitt”. It will make you feel better.
Btw, aside from the I-5 bridge project, you might be interested to know that the Democrats in the Wash. State Senate voted down a bill to restrict illegals from having driver’s licenses.
Washington is one of only two states that now allow illegals to have licenses.

hi.. david..great sight! it’s just a thought! but it looks like SB5297 has been
shot down! thanks! to don.benton@leg.wa.gov and pam.roach@leg.wa.gov
help..maybe! with there help. we could put some legs under
SB 5416 -toll revenue bill and slow or stop this. the voice of the people here
should decide on this! period..
Artimus, thanks!! I had a good laugh with Lars racking the Mayor over the coals, but again
it doesn’t surprise me how they think the voters are to ingornant to understand. This has been going on for over 25 years and they will get around the vote, mark my words!! This is another ‘ Clark County Done Deal!’
I’m looking forward to participating in the discussion.
Lets discuss … thanks for the new connection David!
As a community we need as much reliable information as we can absorb. No one person is going to pull us through this downturn, but as a community pulling together, we will make it through. A ‘bridge’ as this one is most welcome.
This looks to be an excellent opportunity for the community that is not hi-jacked or in the “in crowd”. I wonder though about maybe set up a purpose statement, what we feel is important and how do we go about making that happen.
It’s great for everyone to have an opinion but even more useful if it can be challenged into making a real change. Thanks David for all you do.
