North Columbia Bridge Option

The north bridge option as shown on thirdbridgenow.com.

Proponents of finding an alternative to the proposed Columbia River Crossing Light Rail project* have scheduled a two-day open house to discuss the issue.

ThirdBridgeNow.com is presenting the event July 29 and 30 at the Clark County Public Service Center located at 1300 Franklin St. in Downtown Vancouver.

The event is billed as a time to learn about alternatives to the CRC Light Rail project and chat with elected officials. Topics will include new bridges, upgrades to the current bridges, transit alternatives and solutions.

On July 29 the open house will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. where citizens can discuss alternatives with their elected officials.

On July 30 the open house will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with formal presentations running every 30 minutes between noon and 5 p.m.

* The well-documented cost to taxpayers, if the CRC stays on budget, is $10 billion. This was established by the Cortright Report (PDF) which used data from an independent review panel hired by the governors of Washington and Oregon. (View the panel’s final report.)
